Bereavement Support Group: A Safe Space for Healing
Grieving the loss of a loved one can be one of the most challenging experiences in life. The emotional pain, sense of loneliness, and confusion that often accompany bereavement can make it difficult to navigate day-to-day life. It’s an opportunity to share your feelings in a setting that offers comfort, compassion, and support.

What to Expect from Our Group Sessions
The group is designed to create a sense of community, enabling members to share their personal stories of loss and the unique challenges they face in their journey through grief. Led by a qualified and experienced therapist, these sessions offer a structured yet flexible format, encouraging open discussion while respecting the pace and readiness of each participant.
You don’t need to carry the weight of your grief alone. Talking with others who are experiencing similar emotions can bring a sense of comfort and normalcy during a time that feels anything but normal. Many participants find that expressing their thoughts and hearing about others’ experiences helps them better understand their own feelings and cope with the complex emotions of grief.
Group Structure and Commitment
Our Bereavement Support Group meets once a fortnight, with each session lasting 90 minutes. The group runs for a minimum of eight sessions, giving participants the time and space they need to explore their grief, find emotional support, and develop coping strategies. Sessions are held in a welcoming and private setting, ensuring that all members feel safe to express themselves freely.
While we recommend attending all eight sessions for the most benefit, we understand that everyone’s grief journey is unique. Therefore, participants can join at their own pace and attend as many or as few sessions as they feel comfortable.
Why Join a Bereavement Support Group?
Grief can sometimes feel overwhelming, and even those who have a strong support network of family and friends may struggle to find the right outlet for their emotions. A bereavement support group offers a unique opportunity to connect with others who are going through a similar experience. There is immense value in realizing that you’re not alone in your feelings of sadness, anger, confusion, or guilt.
By sharing your thoughts and listening to others, you’ll learn that your emotions are a natural part of the grieving process, and this understanding can help ease some of the burden. The group dynamic can also foster a sense of belonging and comfort that is often hard to find during times of loss.
Our Commitment to You
At our Bereavement Support Group, we aim to provide not just a space for expression, but also tools and techniques to help manage the complexities of grief. Over the weeks, you will be guided to explore various aspects of loss, including coping mechanisms, self-care strategies, and ways to honor and remember your loved one.
This is a space for healing, growth, and connection. If you feel you need support on your journey through grief, we welcome you to join us. Whether your loss occurred recently or some time ago, there is no timeline for grief, and our group is open to anyone seeking a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
